History:
In 2016, I officiated my dear friend’s wedding and discovered my passion for being part of such special celebrations. Since then, I’ve officiated countless weddings all over the Big Island and as far as the state of Washington. I’d be honored to help plan your dream ceremony, whether it’s on the beach, in the forest, or at a picturesque location. I incorporate Hawaiian blessings and chants, blow the conch shell, and work with each couple to create the perfect ceremony. I even make lei and bouquets, adding a unique and meaningful touch to your special day.

Having the beautiful Kumu Leia officiate our wedding next to a majestic waterfall in the lush jungle of our island was breathtaking, sacred and one of the biggest highlights of my life. Not only did I marry my best friend, but Leia brought a presence of honoring the land, the ancestors and our vows that incorporated the traditional blowing of the pu, hula, chants and deep words of love. She has such a gentle yet powerful presence that makes any important ceremony cherished and honored sincerely yet with pure fun and joy.
She also went out of her way to make my flowers so incredibly stunning and profound. I had scoured the island and all the florists available for calla lilies as this had a deep connection to a loved one I wanted honored in my ceremony. They were nowhere to be found and I had reluctantly given up on the idea. But Leia is magical and somehow found them that morning! She also created the most gorgeous blue jade choker that became my “something blue.” If you have the fortunate opportunity for her to create your floral design or perform your ceremony, I cannot recommend Leia enough!
