About Me

Aloha, my name is Leia Lawrence and I’m a lover of movement and cultural heritage. I've dedicated my life to the study and teaching of Hula. I have always had a love for weddings, celebrations, rituals, love, and flowers. I have been a kumu hula since 2014, studying with Kumu Raylene Haʻalelea Lancaster Kawaiaeʻa for many years, as well as with Kumu Keala Ching. Based in Kohala on Hawaii Island, with years of experience both on stage and in the classroom, I strive to bridge traditions with contemporary expressions, sharing the heart of Hawaiian culture with all who wish to learn. My approach is rooted in authenticity, connection, and the joy of dance, inviting students and audiences alike into the rich world of Hula.
